Research Technician
How do proteins, the functional building blocks of cells, regulate cell identity and interact with immune cells? Which proteins are involved in these processes? At what concentration does each protein function, or dysfunction? Which protein interactions need to take place, and how strong are they? Are you excited by these questions, and would you like to dive into the quantitative protein biology of gene regulation and immune recognition? Then we are looking for you as our new Research Technician!
In this role, you will support PhD students and postdocs in research on gene regulation, protein degradation, antigen presentation, and T-cell recognition. Your tasks will include:
Design and perform experiments together with the research team;
Work on projects involving immune cell biology, molecular biology, and proteomics;
Analyze and discuss experimental results;
Prepare and inject samples for mass spectrometry;
Help organize and maintain the laboratory;
Order reagents and laboratory supplies.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person who is eager to learn and willing to take on this challenge with us. Furthermore, you have/are:
A Bachelor’s, HLO, Master’s, or PhD degree in Life Sciences or Biomedical Sciences;
Hands-on experience with cell culture, proteomics, and/or cloning techniques;
Good organizational skills and attention to detail;
A true team player who is collaborative and easy to work with;
Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.
Your development opportunities and employment conditions
The basis for your employment conditions is in accordance with the CLA Hospitals. You will receive from us:
A two-year’s contract for 36 hours per week;
A gross monthly salary between €2.696,- and €3.882,-, based on a 36-hour working week, in line with FWG 40 and depending on your experience;
144 holiday hours and 57 hours of Personal Life Budget, with full-time employment;
Annual holiday pay of 8.33% and a fixed end-of-year bonus of 8.33%;
A travel allowance of €0.23 per km;
Free parking at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. And with our bicycle plan and discount on public transport we also make it attractive for you to leave the car at home;
