Postdoc liquid biopsy translational research and clinical implementation

We are currently seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join our multidisciplinary team and (inter)national network to support the development and coordination of liquid biopsy ctDNA clinical studies and its path to implementation.

Liquid biopsies (blood draws) contain minute amounts of cell-free circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), which can be used to guide treatment (de-)escalation. We aim to bring ctDNA molecular diagnostics to clinical implementation by developing and performing clinical trials in patients with colorectal cancer. Studies are performed by an international multidisciplinary team involving Remond Fijneman, Niels Kok (NKI), Geraldine Vink, Jeanine Roodhart (UMCU), and the ctDNA biomarker company Labcorp (Personal Genome Diagnostics, Baltimore, USA).

You will be responsible for:

• Writing and finalizing a clinical study protocol and related documentation in compliance with regulatory and ethical standards;

• Coordinating all aspects of investigator-initiated ctDNA clinical studies;

• Serving as the central contact point between clinicians, researchers, study personnel, and external partners;

• Organizing and facilitating (inter)national network meetings, including preparation of agendas, minutes, and follow-ups;

• Supporting grant applications and progress reporting related to the studies.

Jouw profiel

You will play a key role at the interface between translational research and clinical practice.You should have a background in and strong affinity with clinical studies and biomarker translational research. Strong commitment, high accuracy, excellent communication and writing skills, and enthusiasm to work in a multi-disciplinary translational research setting is required.

Compensation

  • The position is full-time (36 hrs./week);

  • A contract for a period of one year with the possibility of extension;

  • The gross salary per month can range from € 4.723,- to € 5.289,- starting from the 1st of August, according to the collective labor agreement Hospitals (CAO) in salary scale 55, depending on your experience;

  • In addition, you will receive a fixed end-of-year bonus in December (8,33%) and in May you will receive 8,33% holiday pay;

  • You will have access to state-of-the-art lab equipment;

  • Your travel expenses will be reimbursed at € 0,23 per km. Free parking at the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek is also part of the package;

  • Personnel is stimulated to use public transport and bicycle and therefore we offer an interesting arrangement for bikers and/or discount on the NS-business card;

  • Amsterdam is a stunning city with many cultural amenities. The institute is located within a 20-minute tram or bicycle ride from the center of Amsterdam and within 20 minutes from Schiphol airport by car, bus or bicycle.
