Postdoc - Immunotherapy Target Discovery using Quantitative Membrane Proteomics
About the job
We are looking for a talented and eager postdoctoral researcher to drive a cutting‑edge, highly collaborative research project in the Voest & Lindeboom laboratories. Combining expertise from both labs, you will design novel immunotherapies by integrating innovative proteomics workflows with exciting culture techniques and genetic perturbation assays. You will have access to world-renowned expertise in quantitative proteomics and cancer drug development, while analyzing tumor models and primary patient material with the Orbitrap Astral mass spectrometer, a game‑changing machine that allows deep, quantitative proteome coverage at unprecedented speed and sensitivity.
You will
Spearhead the development of an innovative proteomics lens to discover unique targets at the cell membrane for next-generation immunotherapies
Apply these proteomics workflows (with technician support) on genetically modified tumor cell lines and organoids
Collaborate with clinician‑scientists to make a real impact for patients
Contribute to open, reproducible science and publish in high‑impact journals
Why this postdoc?
Pioneering expertise: develop unique membrane proteomics tools and apply them in innovative manners to look at drug target discovery in a completely novel manner
State‑of‑the‑art mass spectrometry: Learn and develop unique workflows with the Astral instrument to discover druggable protein dynamics
Translational impact: Projects are embedded in ongoing, data‑rich clinical trials and preclinical programs, where experimentalists, computational scientists and clinicians closely collaborate to make a real impact for patients —you’ll be supported across the full translational spectrum
World‑class ecosystem: NKI offers leading research groups, core facilities and a vibrant international community in the heart of Amsterdam
Why the Netherlands Cancer Institute?
The Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI) is a dynamic comprehensive cancer center accommodating over 55 research groups and many state-of-the-art core facilities, including imaging, cryo-EM, flow cytometry, proteomics, genomics and screening. At the Netherlands Cancer Institute, we have a shared goal: providing the best care for every patient and every type of cancer. Here, science and health care join forces towards innovation. We keep finding new ways to help people facing cancer on a global scale.
Wat breng je mee?
PhD in quantitative proteomics, biochemistry or a closely related field;
