Postdoc
Jouw functie
We are looking for a talented and ambitious individual to participate in the research group of Prof. Dr. VP Retèl and Prof. Wim H. van Harten. We are working on a broad scala of projects regarding (very) early Health technology Assessment (HTA) of innovative technologies in precision oncology. Our group has around 10 PhD students, 2 postdocs and 1 research assistant.
Besides some designated projects, such as the large EU-project Joint Action PCM (personalized cancer medicine) project, the postdoc/research associate is expected to participate in other projects, have a supervisory role for PhD and master students, and to start developing his/her own line of research by joining us in drafting project proposals. Furthermore, we facilitate clinicians and researchers with preparing grant proposals on HTA-related topics.
We are looking for an individual who sees this as career challenge, and is interested in discussing the design and results of broader HTA projects with physicians and other healthcare professionals in the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek hospital. This close collaboration between research and clinical practice supports new innovations to be implemented most optimally and as fast as possible into the clinic.
Supervisors for the projects are Prof. Dr. Valesca Retèl and Prof. Dr. Wim van Harten, in collaboration with the various project specific PI’s such as fundamental researchers and physicians from the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek hospital. We have many interesting research lines in e.g. RWD, pricing & transparency, personalized medicine, cell therapy, immunotherapy, cancer rehabilitation, de-escalation etc.
Why the Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI)
Approximately 550 people work in the NKI research laboratory and many of the clinicians are involved in research. Work discussions, lectures and seminars are inspiring and a large number of non-Dutch post-docs, students and staff members contribute to the stimulating and international atmosphere of the Institute. The group of Retèl and van Harten is positioned within the department of Psychosocial and Epidemiological research (PSOE). Postdocs are offered an introductory postdoc course and various additional carrier-related courses at the NKI.
