Jouw functie binnen onze afdeling
To improve the accuracy of image-guided radiotherapy, an integrated MRI-linear accelerator (MR-linac) has recently been installed at our department. As part of an international consortium of academic centers and industry we bring this MR-linac to the clinic. Patients treated in the MR-linac will receive an MRI scan during each treatment fraction. This creates the possibility for daily quantitative MRI to study treatment response over time with an unprecedented level of detail.
Your task will be to implement existing and new quantitative MR sequences on the MR-linac involving T1 and T2 mapping, non-EPI diffusion-weighted MRI, dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI, arterial spin labeling, magnetisation transfer, CEST and quantitative Dixon. A key requirement is to get accurate and reproducible results such that the sequences can be used reliably between institutes in studies for imaging biomarker discovery. For this purpose phantom and patient test-retest studies need to be designed in a multi-center environment. The results will be compared to diagnostic MR scanners. To accommodate use of quantitative imaging for (online) dose painting, a platform will be developed, translating image content automatically in dose prescription decisions.
We are looking for an ambitious PhD student with a strong affinity for MR physics and image processing.
The candidate should have a master’s degree in physics, biomedical engineering or a related field with experience in programming. A background in MRI physics as part of the master program is recommended. Fluent in English is essential for this position. You like to travel and interact on an international level. Can you identify yourself with these conditions, we would like to invite you for an interview.
