About the PREDICT-NL project
There are several key issues regarding clinical validity, usability, and implementation of prediction models that urgently need to be addressed for prediction models to be of added value to clinical practice in the long-term. We currently have a position for a data scientist (or equivalent) who will work on a solution for a number of these key issues, specifically development of an e-infrastructure that allows integration of prediction models in electronic patient record systems and the continuous validation of prediction models using anonymized data stored in electronic patient record systems.

About the research consortium
This project is a collaboration between the Netherlands Cancer Institute – Antoni van Leeuwenhoek (NKI-AVL), Evidencio (a medical prediction model platform), and Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC). The successful candidate will be embedded in the team at Evidencio and prof. dr. Marjanka Schmidt’s lab at the NKI-AVL. You will join an enthusiastic multidisciplinary research team and collaborate with (inter-) national scientists, clinicians, and patient representatives. The appointment will be for 1 year (32-40 hours a week) with possible extension to 3 years.

Jouw profiel

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic data scientist (or equivalent) with an interest in practical applications of prediction models and programming experience. If you meet the following requirements and are interested in this position we invite you to apply:

• You have a degree, or relevant experience in data sciences, computer sciences or equivalent.
• You have experience with programming, preferably with Javascript, PHP, web services (RESTful, XML SOAP). Experience with HL7 FHIR is a strong plus.
• Affinity with statistics and statistical software and the use of different statistical analysis packages (R, python, etc.).
• Excellent (English) communication skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team are essential.
• You are a precise worker with a good sense of responsibility.
• You have a flexible and proactive working attitude.

Both the Evidencio and the NKI-AVL and LUMC offer an inspiring and interactive research environment. The gross salary per month will range from € 2400,- to € 2800,- depending on past experience and based upon 40 hours a week.
